10 interesting facts about dreams

I’m a big dreamer… I seriously should write a book of all of them 🙈

So I thought I’d treat you with some interesting facts about dreams I found.

1. You forget 90% of your dreams. Within 5 mins of waking half of your dream is gone. So get writing as soon as you wake from one

2. Blind people also dream. People who become blind after birth can see images in their dreams. People who are born blind don’t see any images but still experience sound smell touch and emotion in their dreams.

3. Everybody dreams… Fact

4. In our dreams we only see faces we already know our minds neve invents faces. We see thousands of faces in life.

5. Not everybody dreams in colour 12% dream in black and white, leaving the other 88% to dream in colour.

6. The most common emotion in a dream is anxiety.

7. You dream on average 4-7 times a night ranging from 1-2 hours a dream.

8. Men and women dream differently. Men dream about other men 70% of the time (not sexually) and women dream about men and women equally.

9. If you are snoring you can not be dreaming.

10. You can orgasm while you dream.

Spiritual lessons

The wonderful Dalai Lama has some wonderful lessons and I wanted to share a few of them with you

  • The purpose of our lives is to be happy
  • Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions
  • Be kind whenever possible. It’s always possible.
  • Wellbeing comes through action, not through prayer.
  • Sleep is the best meditation.
  • Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive
  • In the practice of tolerance, ones enemy is the best teacher.
  • When you practice gratefulness, there is a sense of respect towards others.
  • Where ignorance is our master, there is no possibility of real peace.
  • More compassionate mind, more sense of concern for others wellbeing is the source of happiness.
